2025 Filing Updates
Standard Deduction Increases: For 2025, the standard deduction is $31,500 for married couples filing jointly, $15,750 for single taxpayers, and $23,625 for heads of households.
Child Tax Credit: The credit has increased to $2,200 per qualifying child for the 2025 tax year.
Direct File: Starting in 2025, the IRS Direct File service is a permanent option for eligible taxpayers to file directly with the IRS for free.
